Girls and violence

(January 26, 2014)

Foundation 4 Life have teamed up with Harrow Children and Family Services on a major international research project (funded through ESF Daphne III) looking at girls and violence.

The Girls VIP project is working with 7 countries from across Europe and aims to increase knowledge about girls who commit violence and the intervention and support available to them. The project will involve a number of areas of work including collaborative workshops, producing a documentary film made by and featuring young women, interviews, focus groups, study exchange visits, and an International event in 2015 to be held in London.

Importantly the young women themselves will play a pivotal role in informing the project, providing the primary source of information and carrying out key aspects of the work. We are particularly interested in setting up some focus groups with girls in Croydon that have been involved in violence, as well as talking with practitioners about their experience working with girls involved in violence and intervention and support 07710 253 470 [email protected] or Natoya Cole, Yvonne Paulsen and Olivia Chatfield on 0208 662 4480 [email protected]
